The Cabelas topic got me wonderin how you guys get most of your gear. If you had a major store (cabelas, bass pro) within 3hrs of you. would you drive that far to buy your gear?

I get 90% of my stuff from catalogs. I don't order much on line, don't know why, i just don't.

The other 10% i buy at local stores.

Just wonderin.

I'm not going to drive 3-4 hours more than once a year. I'll do the drive to look at the things that I think need to be looked at then write it down on "the list". I'd say right now I get 95% of my gear online, usaully Cabelas and sometimes Mack's or other places I find.

I went with the hometown, well maybe not hometown, stores. Actually 50% of my purchases are by catalog with the other 50 being made from better stocked waterfowler friendly stores during thier annual sales. I like to be a try before I buy person whenever I can.
