I was wandering, how you guys handle hunting with "JOHNNY KNOWALL". Maybe "handle" is the wrong word here. Maybe this, What do you guys think about "JOHNNY KNOWALL"
You know the guy in the blind/pit that thinks he knows everything about duck/goose hunting. :pissed: The one wearing brand new Columbia from head to toe. The person with all the expensive calls that doesn't know how to blow them. :pissed: That guy that claims every bird that falls from the sky. :pissed: The one that tell's those tall tales (aka-lies) about killing 200 greenheads in 45 min. :spam: His landyard is full of bands that were bought off e-bay, but insist he killed them all in one day. :hammering:

If you have ever been a guide or hunting on a refuge were they mix hunters, you know who I'm talking about. If you don't know him, I hope your not him.

Sorry just need to vent alittle. I ran into him today. :toofunny:

I for one dont hunt with him, he never gets the invite  . But I do know who you are talking about and that reminds me of this moron that we once knew. Many years ago we were camping/fishing one late summer night. This moron had the nerve to say what kinda fish it was that splashed when we heard it. Ex: Splash - thats a bluegill. :withstupid:
I'm really picky about who I hunt with....and he ain't it....
I know two or three Johnny Knowalls. But you won't find him hunting with me. His first time to go hunting with me was also his last time to hunt with me!

:withstupid: Don't hunt with them for sure. If you some how end up in a blind with someone like that....deal with it for the day and make sure you never see him next to you in a blind again.
I hate that.

Agreed :hammering:
Wouldn't hunt with him..........
i usually remember someplace i was supposed to be and pack up and leave.
I don't intensionly hunt this kind but if I am unlucky and have to be in the blind with one I normally make up some outragous line of BS and then we he tops it I call BS on him so the stupidy is all over his face :salude: it's great because all the normal people in the blind get to have a great laugh :toofunny: then you don't have to put up with that crap any more  "take a kid hunting you will never regret it"
I'm with swamp puppy I pack up and leave. but when he's outa sight I go somewhere else.
I sure am glad I haven't had to hunt with that idiot yet and hopefully I never will!!!
I've hunted with his kind and didn't care to continue, especially when it was learned his wife divorced him for beating her up! :pissed:
If I get invited to hunt with a friend and he happens to invite "that guy" I sit there with my mouth shut and laugh about it later. Just to be polite.

If for some reason he's in my blind I'll tell him to put his calls up and shut up. If he doesn't like it he can leave. I've done it before and he left. Be brutally honest with them and they won't want to come back.

yeller
This is kind of funny...I hunted with a guy this season one time...his name was joe...When I was done with that I called him Joeitall. My friends stuck me with him as a joke... I saw why...he was/is a total ass.
Man that was awful.
i just give the guys like that in my blind the boot and throw them in well if there too big since i weigh 150 ill have somebody big throw them in
More times than not, he's the idiot on the other side of the pond peppering me & my dekes with 2 shot. Although, sometimes I think he'd be better off in a group of more responsible sportsmen...of course, only if it's not me!
You can have him!

I guess the way I look at it this-who is the guest? Just like if I go to a friends home, some say please take off your boots, another it will not matter, while another will tell you to kick your shodden feet up on the coffee table and set a spell. Basically it is the host that the sets the tone and the guest to follow out of respect. But if the guest is indeed disrespectful, as others have said they will not be invited again-or worse, given the heave ho on the spot if they really push it.

The real problematic point is when the guest does indeed have a lot more experience, and the host is say a novice. Should not the host recognize this and possibly ask the guest his thoughts? Not doing so may be construed by some as being disrespectful to the guest then, would it not? But the guest should be helpful--but not come across as too pushy.

As for the braggart who is just telling tale tales, just laugh at them, internally or even outwardly. Sometimes laughter can go a long ways and smooth things over. But I've seen laughing go over board and it escalates the situation to major hurt feelings and the shouting match that ensues. But again, some are so out of tune-that they believe their own lies, which is another class in itself. This is the one that really nobody likes to have around, as they are an ass. And since I have been know to be straight forward with folks, I have told them where to go and it was not on a trip to a sunny beach either.

Basically each situation may call for a different strategy, I guess that is part of life in the learning to recognize and deal appropriately with the situation at hand.

This may be why I hunt alone. I agree, h2o. I find that I am the least "expert" @ what I do, be it calling, decoy arrangement, etc. I'd be the guy that you could laugh @; I'd be laughing so hard w/ ya, we'd probably neglect some close - in birds. The problem here is w/ human nature. There's a guy @ my club who, if you hunt w/ him, will quiz you on the shots that you've missed ("Now, do you know why you missed?"). Ok, I've never had the misfortune of hunting w/ him; but too many people have reported this that it's not vicious gossip. Any other time he's not @ all a bad fellow. In his mind, he's being helpful. Some folks are just innocent to the point of naivete. No - it - alls generally are that way; they believe that they're helping you.

Yeah I do, becuase you have asked me that question so many times that you have %&$ing phsyced my mind out---so shut the %&*$ up.

Other possibilities would be -

-the sun was in my eyes

-yeah, becuase you were rocking the boat.

-you keep asking that question and I may not miss what I really would like to shoot. (KS W can relate with his signature)
