How good is the X-pert shot from WINCHESTER?

It'll kill ducks, but so will rocks if you throw enough of them. I have a strong dislike for them. I like Estates, Federals, and Kents much much more.

X-perts are fine except for long shots where you might have a little advantage with the higher price shells. You cannot beat the value. Get the high velocity shells and they will be just fine.

3" have 1 1/4 loads at 1400fps and 1 1/8 loads at 1550fps.
Either are fine, but, my group is starting to like the 1 1/8 loads a little better. I'd use 3's or 4's with a Improved and you are great up to 35 to 40 yards. If you think most of your shots will be 35-45 yards throw in the modified and you'll be fine.
If you are going after geese I'd reccomend the BBs with a modified.

I shoot the stuff it works just fine for me. I like federals myself. I shoot this stuff because it is cheap.

Bucky experienced the same as me. Winchester Xpert is junk in my opinion. Kent Fast steel or drylock or supreme for me! Estates are good for the money too.

If you shot at a duck at 25 yards with a modified and didn't kill him. You missed - plain and simple. At 25 yards you have a very small pattern and even if they look like they are standing still.... they are moving and require you to aim in front of them.
I've personally killed over 200 ducks with these shells in the last 3 years. I dare say this is more than a bunch of people will kill in 10 years. I've killed ducks from 10 to 60+ yards with them. They will kill a duck! You have to do your part!
Shells are very often used as scapegoats. Most of the time it's the shooters error. It is often times because of to tight a choke (You probally have a 20 " pattern with your gun at 25 yards). Sometimes it is because of mis-judging the distance.
I shoot experts and I shoot hevishot. They are about the extremes in price. They both have their place. I have a feeling if people would spend more time at the skeet and sporting clays range they would be amazed at how their shells suddenly improve.

Something else....hevishot pellets are not uniform in size or shape.

Have you ever opened up a shell? Thanks for the advise on the trap range. I have patterned my gun many times with many different chokes and shoot lots of trap during the summer. The shells that I opened had square pellets in them, and some were 4s while others were BBs. Congrats on the 200 birds, but I can say that my 75+ birds this season have NOTHING to do with Xperts, you can keep the dirty burning crap. No gun deserves that poor of a shell!

Yes I have opened up plenty of shells. I have not found a square pellet ever. The experts are not perfectly round. every pellet from an expert I've seen has a flat spot on it. I have not seen much of a difference in size.
The whole point is they are what they are. They are an inexpensive shell that uses cheaper shot than the more expensive shell. They are not guaranteed waterproof. They are $6.50 - $7.00 per box for 3" and $9.00 per box for 3 1/2". Kents are usually about $3 more and drylocks, nitros, or federals are more than that.
If you are only going to buy a couple boxes a year get the expensive stuff. If you are going to buy a couple of cases or more, the experts are a very good value. Just do not blame the shells when you do not kill a slam dunk shot. If you shoot at a duck within 30 yards with anything from 6's to t's even with a cylinder bore choke ---you center the duck ....the duck dies ....period. Is it possible for a duck to fly through a pattern - yes . Is it likely to happen under 30 yards? NO! Like I said the more you practice ....the better your shells get.
