i have never blown a goose call before and would like to learn. my question is...how do you physically blow a goose call? cadence information is also useful. i am more looking for the way to get a call to produce a single note that sounds correct. is it like blowing a duck call? what tips and tricks to y'all use to get that "honk" that sounds so good? thanks in advance...

thanks for sharing. one last question though, do you blow through the call the same way you do a duck call to get these sounds from it?

I don't.For shortreeds, I bring the air up from my gut using bursts when clucking. It's kinda tough to explain, but your diaphram is what powers the s- reed, not your throat.Remember to keep your tongue anchored behind your bottom teeth, I didn't know this at first. After I found out, things moved along at a much quicker pace.

Hay, make sure you check out the sites that plainsmen listed above. I printed out the page with all the word for the different calls and then down loaded the goose call sounds from the other sites. I am just learning the short call and I am able to play the sequences on the computer and then use the words to try to duplicate the sounds. Works good because you can replay the sound files real easy without having to back up a CD or DVD all the time. I am getting a lot out of it. Also planning to get tak'em 6 and honker talk.
