Last year I put one into the body of a mallard in the Hampton Marsh, it dropped down and swam to shore about 400-500 ft from where I shot it, wind took it into a boat ramp in hampton where this old bag lives. She took my duck, as I was yelling at her to drop it and that she was comiting a crime. I called fishing game, Sat afternoon one day last year. He said he would go down and talk to her Mon, I said no way today. About 2-3 hours later he came down and met me there. After talking to her she said she would give it back but wanted to talk to me. This 80 year old waman tore into me calling me all sorts of names.

So after all this I ask the game warden, so did you give her a ticket, he said for what?
How about taking the game of another.
Hunter harassment
hunting without a license
taking a duck without a license and hip number

His responce was, no you got your duck back. I was steaming. Too many tree huggers down on the seacoast harassing hunters and nothing ever happens to them.

Sounds like a great law, Ya we'll club those anti hunting harassing SOB's over the head :hammer:

THE LAW IS USELESS, ask any CO or cop.

while that individual is in a designated hunting area on public lands. No person shall enter or remain in a designated hunting area on any state lands with the intent to purposely obstruct or impede the participation of any individual in the lawful activity of hunting, fishing or trapping.

A designated hunting area on any state lands. They can't cite anyone because no such thing exists in the state of NH. They have tried they have lost and everyone seems too lazy or doesn't care to modify the law from how it is written. When it comes right down to it the CO's are not going to help you. Been there done that filed the written complaint, plenty to go on witness ect. Every policeman I have spoken to said what happened was clearly chargable as criminal mischief in my case, two CO"s involved, nothing done. As a group they don't really care, they are looking to pinch you not those who harrass you.

My friend happened to get some good help the other day from a NH CO. Had some whacko throwing a stick into the decoys for his dog to fetch... and playing a siren to scare away the birds. He kept telling my friend he was worried about the ducks... My friend just waited this nut out and the weirdo eventually left. After getting back to the launch ramp, my friend saw and told a CO what happened. The CO gave my friend his private mobile phone number and told him if it happened again to call right away and he'd be down asap to take care of the guy. He seemed upset that he hadn't had the opportunity to see/deal with this lunatic that day.

It's a good thing I take those pills that make me start vomiting uncontrollably when I go into a frothing rage......o/w that guy might have slept with the fishes had that been my decoy spread.

I have no idea HOW he put up with it. He said the guy was there a good 20 minutes. He said he didn't want to leave and give the guy the satisfaction of beating him... and he didn't want to get arrested for shooting an idiot. But, at one point I guess he did tell the guy it was a good thing it was duck season and NOT people season. Then again, this friend of mine is the type of guy that would laugh-off things that most of us would be devastated about. Its just his nature I guess. I couldn't have dealt with it so well, I do know that! :hammer:

So what if you're hunting and someone decides your spread is the best fishing spot on the lake? Had that happen to me a couple years ago. We asked him to move but it didn't help. We seriously considered blowing out one of his pontoons.

Why in the name of all that's holy would anyone do that? How could any one of us tolerate that?

I had that happen to me once as well back in the 90's. A man and woman commenced fishing about 20 yards in front of our decoys. Since they seemed determined to fish there I decided to go for a recreational boat ride making circles around their boat. When they asked what I was doing I said "taking a ride, why is it bothering your fishing?" They pulled in their lines and left.

I had a guy in a bass boat pull up just the other side of my spread this year on Lake Winni. I asked him if he was joking, He stated he was just fishing through, I stated I would just be shooting on through then. I had full intention to shoot over his head if need be but he moved.

The law is meant to protect fisherman and trappers too. I guess it could go both ways, he has every much right to fish there as you have to hunt there. Yes, obviously he was being a prick, but solving the problem of a prick by making a dangerous shot is probably not the best move. Best case scenario he gets charged with hunter harrassment and you get charged with felony endangerment. I think he wins.

It's all about respecting each other.....usually via who was there first. Would you agree that fishing season is longer than duck season? Any reason to tolerate asshats like the one mentioned above? I fish a lot too.....but I wouldn't dream of wandering into someone's decoys to "just fish through".

Can this apply to other hunters as well? Last weekend of the season and we had another group set up within about 60 yards of us and start blasting at any bird that flew by regardless of range....including loons (on two occasions). Their dog also decided to join our hunt for a little while and just loved licking my buddy's face (the feeling was not mutual).

The icing on the cake was when a small flock of geese came over and I called them in. As they were cupped and swinging around these idiots decide to start firing off 80 yard shots at the geese.

At the parking lot they had to nerve to ask how our hunt was. Being the last weekend of the season I just kept my mouth shut and drove away, but it was all I had not to let the expletives fly.

Can you please describe them, their boat, their dog and license plate no.? These posts are worthless w/o doing so. IMO you should never keep your mouth shut around these jack wagons......o/w how will they know they were doing wrong?

Well I understand the sentiment about not keeping the mouth shut, but I've seen more than a few times where such sentiments are not taken too well at the boat launch and things can get heated fast. The season was done....I decided i'd much rather just take my decoys and go home rather than fume for the next 9 months about a heated confrontation.

There were two guys...hunting a coastal harbor (not on Great Bay) off a rocky point. They had a native brand kayak and a black lab. NH plates. Didn't take the license plate but the owner must participate in triathlons as he has stickers all over his truck cap with the ironman logo and 140.6 (or whatever the official distance is).

Had they any prayer of actually shooting the loon (well outside of range both times) I would've happily called fish and game on them.

Mojo,
I think we were hunting the same area. It was a ZOO. (same general area we hunted when we first met?)

I can assure you that I wasn't the skybuster. Anybody who knows me will know that I dont run marathons....
I was the first boat in that morning and sat back and watched the fun develop...Made me remember why I retired so I dont have to hunt weekends...
