Howdy; My father grew up in Newton, Iowa and he's been talking about hunting Iowa this season for giant honkers. Unfortunately he' been living in Los Angeles, CA for the past 40+ years. Any information would be gratly appreciated. :salude: :salude:

While the duck seasons the last couple of years have been a little under the weather, the goose seasons have been pretty fun. Here's the link for the seasons. Also in the 1st link it shows where not to hunt as they are the "closed to Canadas zones" You can pretty much find Canada's statewide and starting near Newton wouldn't be a bad choice. If you wait until mid December you may hit it perfect. The bottom link is the 2004-2005 state hunting report put out by the DNR to recap the season.

Gosse season is getting closer, and closer. Can't wait till the tenth. Any body plan on going on any early season special hunt's in Des Moines, Cedar Fall's, or Iowa City???
