I was just thinking the other night that with various Summer weddings and house projects I really only have about 8 really good weekends (if I am lucky) to get in all my scouting before the early season goose hunting starts. Then I also remembered that wth all the other preparations (decoys, lines, weights, painting, etc) and then doing some skeet shooting and final dog preparations I really need to get moving if I have any hope of making Sept. 1st! Well, this thought obviously put a HUGE smile on my face since thinking about 8 days is A LOT easier then thinking 11 WEEKS!!

Speaking of scouting has anyone seen any large gatherings of resident geese?

Hi duckmann,
We have several groups of the resident geese in the Rangeley and Stratton areas. Several already have goslings in tow. I also have a pal near Newfield who has way too many ducks cluttering up the pond in his back yard.
