See if ya need waders, or, will knee boots do. Southern LA. doesnt get too cold, but, waders will keep ya comfortable, even if ya dont "need" them. Dont forget to pack some skeeter juice and sun block. A small flashlight is also very handy. A couple boxes of some Kentfasteel #2's and... Bust some ducks!
