Yea, but I have gotten places I never thought I would get with a 2wd. I got so far into some mud that water was almost comming in the truck. I still can't believe that I got that stuck.

I was like 60 feet into it too. It doesn't help that I was at like 5:30 in the morning. I would have to say I would rather have a ford or a dodge then some inport truck or car.

Just a side note, what engine do most the big Ford trucks come with? You know, the F650s etc. A cummins... Dodge must do something right, well, at least they have the cummins!

I drove a Chevy for three years and now I'm switching to a Ford, so I'm not set on one or the other. They both have there pros and cons.

Yep. I wish I could have the looks of the F350, the ride and interior of the chevy, with a cummins engine. Dodge autos are pretty crappy, but the 5sp and 6sp aren't bad. As far as the rest of the drive train, hard to beat. I haven't had any experience with the newer stuff, but my D60 and D80 is built like a tank. I'm not really brand loyal, I just don' t like blue ovals! :yes:

u know ford and chevy have to go back and forth bragging up there v8 deasil engines..... but they never compare them selves with the cummins, maybe thats cuz the cummins is the only one that needs a straight 6 to outperform the others.... :laughing: ....im for chevy and dodge trucks tho.

i like my blue oval.i wanna buy a newer one with the triton v-10 someday. i test drove one. damn those things have got alot of power.

Those things are a bit#% to work on! You have to take the entire engine apart to change the spark plugs on the last two cylanders.....

You'd be better off w/ the diesel :thumbsup:

Not to mention the fuel you'd run through. They have a lot of power for a reason!

I am not trying to crush your dreams :mrgreen: , but they prettymuch make those engines for contracting/construction companies.

They go out and buy lets say 10 new trucks every other year. Then they sell the others so they dont have to worry 'bout maintenance. For them it is alot cheaper to get the V10.

But unless you are planning on selling it after only a year, then stick w/ the V8, or better yet the diesel! :salude:

yeah i bet they guzzle the gas. i would mainly use it for pulling my camp trailer and my big boat. my f-250 now only gets about 7 mpg when i am pulling. cant get much worse than that. for just driving i have a little pick up. it gets 25 mpg.

I love my new Ford, but my dad just bought a '05 Dodge Ram 4X4 Big Horn edition. Quad cab, Hemi and 20" chrome wheels. VERY nice truck. That Hemi will outgun most sports cars. It smoke's the tires! Impressive power and acceleration.
