I'm lookin at upgrading my boat and motor for next season. I'm leaning towards a surface drive motor and I've been advised to purchase a boat that matches the motor rather than just gettin a boat and throwin on a mud motor. I'm leaning towards either a Pro Drive X-36 hp or a Gator Tail GTR 35. Does anyone have any good dealer contacts in NC that I can talk to about surface drives (particularly these two) and the boats that should accompany them?

SS, LATE last year I to was looking at a new boat with a surface drive. I did alot of reseach on them. What I found to be the best for the $ was a Phowler boat with a Pro-drive (1652 and a X 36 ). Luckly the are sponsors here and at the time were offering a discount. Unfortunitly I had a trip to LA already planned out and the delivery of the boat was gonna be cutting it way to close. If I had had the time that`s the rig I would have choosen. Larry`s marine was very helpful and stand up people. Hope this helps
