i am thinking about getting off the East Coast here in North Carolina and moving back to the Midwest, i lived in Minnesota for 15 years, but that is way to cold for my wife, the Schools Suck here
i have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and want them to go to good schools,i wanted to know how are the Schools in Iowa? and how is the Hunting in General, like upland, trukey, ducks and Deer?
I want my boys to grow up hunting fishing and just being in the outdoors, and also my wife loves to hunt just like me
Thanks Lenny

The schools are great in Iowa especially western Iowa. If you live on the Iowa side you can work either in Iowa or Nebraska really short commute. Huge amount of Duck/Goose/Deer Monsters/Turkey and wing shooting in general...The fishing isnt half bad either. Its already in the 50s some days.
I live in Nebraska and are moving to Iowa for the same reason schools and hunting opps are better.

Its all of what you read, hunting is good, maybe not so on the ducks, but upland is a ball.

Schools are great, family life is great. Ask yourself this, do you lock your house and cars up now? Where I live we dont!! keys in car when we go on vacation. your neighbors are grand and look out for you, help in any way. Its not the fast pace of big city life!!

I have a problem as wife wants to go to the city, why give the qood life up? I am not into fast paced city life and hate crowds.

MAKE THE MOVE, YOU WONT LOOK BACK!!!!!

There is plenty of good hunting and fishing around here and the schools arenot bad either, and if your serius about ducks there are alot of good folks here in this chat that can give you some good ideas on areas about hunting.Last few years the ducks seem tobe on their way up in numbers, alot of guys have dune better the last 2 years(including myself)on ducks and geese, than in the last 10.
All you have to do is ask and most of the people on here(IOWA) will help out if they can  :welcome:

I have lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Washington State and Minnesota and I love hunting on the western side of Iowa. The missouri river and it's oxbows are great waterfowl places, some good pheasant hunting and tons of deer. This area is #3 on places to waterfowl hunt behind Pasco Washington #1 and Aberdeen South Dakota #2.
