Ask 10 people...you'll get 10 different answers. A few "coot" decoys could never hurt. Sometimes ya got ta mix it up a bit. I have yet to use more than 3 decoys all season. Y'all have a nice day!

I've heard that....and also heard that decoys like white stand out, so they attract more ducks......I heard you can get some 2 liter coke bottles and paint them black and the ducks don't know the difference til it's too late....haven't tried it though.

I was looking for Black Duck decoys. Flew over the marsh in another buddy's dads plain. Diver decoys stand out well. I hunted with a guy who used 2 dozen bluebills and 2 dozen mallards and we pounded the snot out of them. That was actually my first real hunt over decoys.

We use pintails cause the white stands out pretty good. I am gonna buy some bluebill or blacks just to make my spread different and more visible.

to get your own interpretaton of this next time you go out walk a few hundred yards from your spread and see what stands out best for you. you wil notice immediately what stands out most for me in my area where i hunt mostly my blackducks stood out from the furthest away.

i worked as a commercial gillnetter for a few years, on our highflyers we would have a big white bag and a black bag tied to the pole depending on the conditions you either saw the white or the black first most of the time you could spot the black from the furthest away
