It seems like I'm doing fine with my quackhead and double nastyII, but I keep looking at the expensive acrylic calls and think I'm needing one. What, if anything, am I missing from not having one of those calls? FYI, I pretty much hunt over water both large and small.

i think its worth the money. i got an acrylic call at walmart for only 40.00.

earsplitting volume....in reality thats all your missing......it seems to me that all acrylic calls sound alot a like...ducks have to be getting used to that....i stick with lower pitched wood calls...but im an old guy

I mostly go with the low buck wood calls and they work great. They get wet and act up at some points so this year I tried a yo sister and that worked good for me. It is a lower volume design and I liked it for close work and for small ponds and creek work. It was not expensive at all.
