I have a Colonial extended ported extra full choke .665 and I would like to know if I can use the extra hard stuff with it. I know a lot of extra full choke tubes today are OK to use with hevi, but I haven't heard anything about the Colonials.
But what I have read in general is that one should not ever use extra full-much less full with steel shot. That is assuming the choke rating is based on lead shot, as some tubes are stamped full-steel and mod-lead for example. Also the coarser the shot, the tighter the pattern and the harder it es on the barrel too.
I am not sure about the hevi-shot.
And I am not familiar why the brand you speak of. So maybe check to see if you can find their website and send them an email or call them to be sufe.
