I haven't been out there since last friday, but I'll bet you D2 had a limit. I hunted D1 last friday, but then again so did the guys from D2. Me and my buddy got set up and all the sudden these guys yell over and ask if we want to hunt with them. Not thinking they were in D1 we just said no we were already set up. Then the first duck that flies over that they shoot at we find out that they were about 75 yards away from us in D1. They limited out by 9AM. Needless to say I was pissed. I haven't been duck huting that long so I don't know if this is common, but how bad does that suck to draw the best spot and have guys set up in it with you.

i have killed some ducks this year wading out into a flooded milo feild. theres was millions of mallards on it till truman lake went down. i got my first banded duck out of that milo feild this year.the problem is that it only floods every couple years.

Bubba,

I am from Hannibal also. Do you do most of your hunting at Shanks? I do most of my hunting at Mark Twain Lake. This year really sucked for us. This is my third season hunting, but I hunt with my father in-law who has been hunting for 2 decades plus, and he says this was one of the worst seasons he could remember. We hunt mostly on the weekends, but I think we only killed a total of 30 - 35 birds all season. The bad thing is we killed 9 of those between the two of us on the second day of the season. We ventured to Shanks a couple of time, but did not have much luck. We also tried Fountain Grove with no luck. Going to do some goose hunting? Plan on hunting for some on Monday.

Later,

Hunting this year sucked and we also had people set up close to us wich realy pisses me off but owell, before the water froze i did pretty good in nose slu by oval pond but a when the ice came d1 busted the heck out of them ducks. they had the black tornado there it was frekin nuts, the ducks were landing right next to the timber but nobody was hunting there. i think i would have relocated a little bit. but nobody did it was crazy cant wait tell next year
