I am wondering if my spread is good enough for this season. I have 6doz. mallard decoys 1doz wood duck decoys, 4canvasback decoys, and 1 mojo duck. I still am going to get 1doz. pintails and a jerk string decoy. Tell me how it sounds.

Sounds like enough ducks for where I hunt. The only thing I might ad is some canadas.

I think thats plenty depending if your leaving them or having to pull them up each hunt ? If i had to pull them up each hunt from a boat then 50 would be all i would want to fool with.

Maybe some Widgeon would be a nice addition too.

And if you get divers where you hunt, maybe some Bills and such would be good too.

mallardhunter, buy decoys in whatever species you see while hunting.

I use a large spread, but only put out the decoys of species that frequent my area of the river. I use a 15 doz. mix of mostly mallards with pintails, wood ducks, gadwall, greenwing teal, bluewing teal, widgeon and bluebills mixed in. I plan on throwing in a few bufflehead decoys this year as well.

BTW, we pick up and put out these decoys every day we hunt.
