Picked up a Retay Masai Mara towards the end of waterfowl season last year. At first look and feel, thought it was great. But after getting into the gun a bit, and shooting it, having second thoughts. Tried to change the shims, impossible. Noticed when I took the gun apart, the stock shim, one of the little cleats that hold it into the back of the receiver was smashed. When I tried to fit in the shim I wanted, the cleat holes on the shim would not line up with the ones on the back of the receiver. Thought maybe I got a bad shim. Ordered another, same problem. The spacing of the cleat holes on back of the receiver are spaced further apart than the cleats on the shim. Had to snap the top of the shim to get it to fit in the cleat holes on back of the receiver.
Another big problem I’m having, every single time I have shot this gun at a bird directly above me, it jams. Fires the shot, and won’t eject the shell, every time. Has happened with 3”, and 3 1/2” shells. Not too big on this gun anymore!
