We used to hunt the marshes in Manitoba--Lebeau in lake Winnipeg--and The portage marshes in Lake Manitoba.
We would tie to the catails and reeds or use the paddles driven into the mud and tie to that--seemed to hold just fine.
At one time we also made out riggers for the canoe--they would fold up when not used.Worked fine for shooting, but was a darn nuiscence when paddling!
The newest thing is to use a fishing belly boat--we use that out west here and it is the safest shooting platform I have shot from!!Easy to retrieve the birds if you have no dog. A very stable platform with a low center of gravity!
Anyone any other suggestions??
