Was always a firm user of Remington but thought I would try to save a couple of bucks and try this Kent Fasteel stuff. I picked up a box of 3 1/2 inch BBB in 1 3/8 ounce. I think they go about 1550 fps. Does anyone else use these type shells and how do you find they perform on geese. I also picked up a box of 3 inch BB also in 1 3/8 for the girlfriend to use. Should be as good as any Remingtons out there? Another quick question can you get Challenger shells in the U.S. and has anyone used those.

i have been using the fasteel for a few years now and i love it.

This year however i found the winchester expert hi velocity and decided to give them a try, all i can say is WOW. in my opinion they outperform the fasteel hands down. i am coming away with alot more clean kills than with the fasteel and alot more knockdown power at longer distances. whats even more impressive is the price at $10 a box for 3 and 1/2 you can't loose.

just my 2 cents

i really liked the 3 1/2 BBB and my girlfriend used the 3" 2's on ducks and loved them. I did however have problems with some of the kents.
It seems that you cant even get the kents moist. I had one 3 1/2 #2 and 3 or 4 of the BBB not go off in the gun. The BBB's would just roll out the end of the barrel or they were slow enough i could see them in the air. The #2 i shot was at a cripple like 10 yards from the blind and it sounded like rocks hitting the water... I really like the way they shot but was real dissapointed thet they couldnt handle any moister.

Kent has come out with a 3.5" load this year that is running 1625 fps. Only in 2's and BB's. They say the BB's are some of the best goose killing power out there right now simply because of the speed. Too bad I shoot a 10ga.........which leads me to my next statement.

I've got a friend that owns a sporting goods store. He told me Federal supplies Kent with plastic. He said Federal won't sell them 10ga. plastic and even told Kent if they bought from another company and produced a 10ga shell they would discontinue their arrangement. Not sure how true this is, but the guy that told me is one of the most truthful people I know.

The drylock mag 3" BBB crushes them. I was screwing around and did one of the watch this shots. Dropped the duck stone dead. We were pass shooting them on the last day, and he was out there. Brother did the same thing pass shooting snows one day.

I have been using Kent faststeel for 2 years now and I love it. For the price it's a wonderful deal, and for those of you who pattern your guns, Kent patterns very well, in my Browning anyway. (for those of you who don't pattern your guns - start doing it! it can reveal a lot about what type of shell you should be shooting) The only "downer" about faststeel is that it isn't waterproof, but as one member already replied, you can fix that quickly with a bit of nail polish from your girlfriend and put a bit on the top of the shell.

UT Greenhead if you really want to shoot a load like that then get you a ballistic products status of steel they have 1.3/8oz loads at 1600 fps in the 10ga. I prefer the 1.5oz at 1500 myself the 1600fps loads are hard to keep the pattern together.

i dont know if i got a bad lot or what, but i won't ever shoot kents again. my friend was shooting them one day and he shot at a loner as i watched. it kind of went plop, and the shot landed about two feet in front of the blind. when he ejected the shell a fireball came out and singed his armhair  the scary part was the wad got stuck in the choke-not good. anyway later on my dad was shooting the same shells and the same thing happened minus the fireball. always liked winchesters. seem to really knock the crap out of em. also tried some hevi-steel this last weekend. shot a goose at about 45 yards with #2's, and the pellets went clean thru   wow
just my two cents
