Looking to put together a trip up there this season. Anybody have any good recommendations on a good, safe (and hopefully successful!) guide? Chances for both divers and puddlers would be a plus. Thanks!

if you have a good boat and the necessary equipment you don't need a guide. We went for the first time last year, and despite less than ideal conditions, 55+ and sunny every day, we still killed some birds. We layout shot for divers. The water is pretty shallow in most spots and we used the Selfridge ramp daily to launch. PM me if you would like any additional info.. Obviously I'm no expert but maybe can offer a few tips...... We were in Michigan and did not venture over to Canada to hunt.

Don, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not have a boat, or the rig for layout hunting divers. This trip will be our first crack at trying layout hunting on big water, so just trying to experience something new this year. It may not be the duck hunter philosophy, but I figured we'd try it with a guide who has all the stuff already instead of running out and buying it ourselves! :lol3:

I only started last year so I am no expert but I do have a boat, layout boat and all the decoys. What I don't have most weekends is hunters to go out with. We did get some ducks last year and if you are interested get back with me.
