Locking Down Posts

Lately it seems like many threads have been locked down for no reason at all. We had a TOM* thread with three pages of friendly banter and reminiscing, about the days of Tom*, we then had a bit of a heated arguement about cruelty to animals specifically the natural merits of birds of prey, several of us (including yours truly) were publicly flogged and ordered to not post anymore on that subject.
I guess my concern is that it seems like we are unable to have any good arguements at all. The "Soap Opera" flavor of this particular forum is being taken away. Are we supposed to talk about our kids braces, and the local Fire Department fund raiser. No controversial topics allowed, don't talk about Tom* or Jrocks crabs, or the fact that Don Taylor is a lunatic. I feel that there is an abuse of power sometimes with Moderators having the ability to just lock down a thread. It reminds me of grade school with the hall safety patrol. Don't run in the hall, don't pull the girls pony tails, and don't skip steps on the stairs.
No offense Mods, I just think that certain things should be let go, that's what makes this sight fun to come to.

I said it before and Ill say it again.DHC needs an exterminator.Anybody who rats to a mod about another member has got to go!
CDH and others are rite their was no good reason to lock down the Tom* thread.I would love to know who complained about that one.Besides Tom* has probaly had an alter name for some time now.
Like we say in hockey lets put the whistle in the pocket and let the guys play.

I do know that it must suck for the mods to log on and have to deal with childish BS and complaints I commend you guys for that.
I can promise you wont get any from me.
Any one else...?

You've let me have a few good blows in your lead and steel post wackem, but I don't hold it against you. I was just confused about what you were asking I reckon. It wasn't until you explained it that I figured it out that you weren't going to use it. Sorry bout the mix up mate. I guess those blows were deserved for everything me and everybody posted about the idea. Take this as a public appology by me and everyone else that jumped down you throat.

Your welcome Chris and as far as public apology Im sorry I love you so much.

Totally disagree. I've seen rusty hoes, broken hoes, cracked hoes and hoes that were all bent out of shape. Never had the need to opperate one of these hoes but have heard some real horror stories. You get cut by a dirty rusty cracked hoe that is all bent out of shape and you had better hope all you need is a tetanus shot.
If you use hoes like that out in the garden tetnus is the least of you problem.

Remember Next Thursday:
"Hooray Hooray the first of May outdoor hoeing starts today!! " My Grandpa tempered for DHC

OHH how true
You know what you call it when a drunk girl falls on the dance floor?

A good ol' country "HOE DOWN"!!!
This is probably the tamest forum there ever was. I've been doing a lot of reading since I registered, and this has GOT to be the biggest love fest on the intrawebs. And the least tolerant. At least IMHO. I read the BoP thread - which was a waste of time, except for some really great photography, and have to wonder why that guy got hammered? Was he profane, or did he flame somebody by name? Of course, I couldn't see the part that was edited out, so maybe that was it. But, all in all, I didn't see that he was doing anything that others weren't doing, without being hammered. At least they were warned.
mmmmm, I dont think you guys are referring to hoe's are you :huh

Alright guys, enough of the hoe stuff. Take it elsewhere if you do not like our rules here.

Consider it a formal warning, no more over the top sexual inuendos as this site is about hunting and the outdoors.
Now is the time for public displays of affection
I love you guys!!!!
I guess I will give my opinion on the locking of threads here. I was a little interested on the locking also but than realized this....The rules here at DHC are put in place for a reason. The admins have a tough job. There is a very very fine line when talking about these rules. A lot of times when a thread is locked it is right on the line. So knowing this I do not hold the admins responsible for locking the threads as it is simply their duty.

On the other hand there needs to be a little drama here, just to keep things going. If there was not any drama things would get real boring and we would run out of topics in about a month.

So I guess in my opinion we all are to blame. I think the admins should try letting the threads work themselves out a little more and the members should try to adbide by the rules better.

But what does my opinion mean?

I've said the same thing. My opinion meant squat as well.

Go look in the NC Forum and se how "boring" it is. It used to full of guys and gals until one person ruined it and now its beat.
