I hunt the Missouri River and I now use Acrylic and Wood. Since I can usually spot the ducks from a ways away I use a acrylic call to get their attention then once I've got their attention I use a Wood call. But I dont like to tones of acrylic. I was wondering if anyone knew of a loud wood call that i could use instead.

It's hard to buy a loud wood call without going custom...I make most of my wood calls in the mid range...I made some fairly loud ones out of figured bubinga......the bonus was its looks.....check for custom callmakers....most can make loud wood calls

look up Reid Theadgill. he makes custom wood, acrylic, and wood/acrylic combo calls. he can tune them anyway you like. open water or timber. i have a timber call from him and it is sweeeet.

he will work with you on your personal call as well. tell him what you want and he'll build it. if it doesn't sound right, talk to him again and most likely he'll take it back and re-tune it for ya.

here is the link to his site
