Turned some old mallards into scoter decoys. I know milk jugs will work, but I enjoy painting them. I think they should work.

Those will work. Paint jugs aren’t as effective as they used to be. Hunting pressure has changed that. What state are you hunting?

I actually hunt mostly In the U.P. of Michigan. Got my first white wing scoter last fall, and seen several black scoters that never came into range.
