Sounds like a nice gun for the job. Myself I use a old rem 1100 mag, with hevi shot, have you tryed hevi shot, It works great. We have not had to use no toxic shot that long up here. And using steel shot was a big change from lead.

today the family and I drove down to virginia where he is being trained. after a little time working with him, I got to help out with some field trials training. I was in charge of shooting the flyers and all that did was excite me for this season, It was great though.

Was reading that both the rem hevi shot and the federal stell shot is made by the same company. the only diff is that federal uses a heaver wad to protect the barrle (less shot charge)

I hunt mostly waterfowl and whitetail deer in so maryland we grow some big bucks. I do shoot some upland birds but it is on game preserves due to there isn't that much wild upland birds around. If there is I can't find them.

I have two rem 1100's in 12 and 20 I love those guns there price and reliability are hard to beat. I just retired my 12 this year for the beretta. It is a good 10 years old

That new dog should help with the upland game. Sorry But Have to Go ,have to get up for work at 4 am. Will try and be back on line sunday 8.00 pm. It was nice talking with you and if I dont here from you again. good luck with the upcoming season.
