I went to a gun show yesterday and bought one of the slickest 20 ga. Model 12's I've seen in a long time. It has a 28" plain barrel with a modified choke. My Madis Winchester book says it was made in 1941, but it had been stored away; a friend and I checked it over closely and it is obviously original with just slight wear on the stock. The bluing is probably 98-99% and the stock an honest 96-97%. The gun hasn't been cut or tampered with.
I think I'll just put it in the cabinet and keep it clean; we have another 20 ga. Model 12 with a solid rib that I use on ducks and roosters. The 1 oz. Bismuth load of #5's just knocks the birds cold.
