Im not one to post up here often but I thought I would let one go.

Why do you guys think they show the 10 commandments sat nite.???
Why do you suppose they dont put on the passion of the Christ..
What does moses have to do with easter..??
I dont wanna sound like a jerk but it seems to me the jewish controlled media has alot to do with it.What do you guys think..?
Keep in mind Im not a religeous person so I really have no bias towards the question I asked.

it's all religions that have messed up what we watch on tv. I can remember in the 70's watching all those movies during holy week. its sad.

Those old movies are great! I am just glad they still show them. However, I would vote for the Passion of the Christ or a more Easter related movie. The only problem with the Passion is the movie ended just a little too soon for my taste. I would have liked it to go into the resurrection story a little more. It has been a while since I have seen it, but I recall thinking that at the time. What Christ did for us on the cross is very important, but it is what came after that we celebrate on Easter. He has risen!

As far as the Jews controlling the media, I thought it was the liberals. Oh maybe it is the :devil: . I don't know but it isn't good most of the time who ever is controling it.

Please allow me enlighten you about the movie Moses: It is sad that the churches haven't taught this to you-all.

The key to understanding some things is to realize that Jesus is Jewish Rabi who had 12 disciples and kept the rules and Feasts of the Lord. He did the Saturday Sabbath and ate kosher. He also said that He did not come to do away with the "Law" - not one letter would change until all was completed - guess what - we're here so it aint over yet.

Jesus ate the Passover dinner, got arrested, and crucified on PASSOVER. Their days go from sunset to sunset based on Genesis. He ate around dusk, partied until midnight, went up on the Mt of Olives (giant graveyard now - I was there 3 yrs ago), was arrested and nailed to the tree, dead by about 3:00 or 3:30 - in the tomb before dark. A busy day by any means. 3 nights and 3 days later - He's up and about. We all can agree on that - right?

Okay - what's the Passover got to do with it? When they put the blood on their doors they were acting in FAITH that GOD would not kill them like He would the Egyptians.
What are you doing when you come to FAITH in Messiah - that He died for YOUR sins? You are putting HIS blood over your "door". And hopefully changing your evil ways and getting the eternal reward in the end.

SO, Passover and Moses should have deep spiritual meanings for you - no matter what church you belong to.

Now, I must continue:

The Jews are our brohters in faith.

If you read the scriptures such as ACTS 1:6 it is jam packed loaded with things like that. That's where the disciples ask Jesus if it is the time when He is going to restore the Kingdom of Israel. The prophecies have the Messiah ruling over all of Israel - there are 12 tribes and Roman Catholic isn't one of them. We belong to the Commonweath of Isreal and are grafted into the vine of Israel (Ephesians 2 and Romans 11). The Jews are the natural branches - don't be haughty or conceited or you'll get plucked off. Read it.

Look to the roots - we all say the God is the same then, now, and ever after. Messiah and God are one. John 1:1 said Jesus was there at the beginning - that's Genisis 1:1. If He was there, shouldn't we learn it? HE created it!

What are the greatest commandments as defined by Jesus? Love the Lord God with all your heart mind & strength and Love your neighbor as yourself. He also said to pray for your enemies.

The Jews are my brothers - and yours. If you can't love 'em, at least pray for them. After a while you'll learn to love them.

BTW - I never saw the Passion of the Christ. Don't want to. He sacrificed Himself and died. The important stuff relates to the blood and water and that He is the First Fruit of the Ressurection. The whipping and such is just brutality. Some prophecies do reference the spitting, mocking, pulling out of the beard, the tree (an olive tree - not a giant 8x8 timbered cross), and more. But that's over - we need to celebrate our crossing over into life, eternal life in His Glory, not our own.

Alright Missed, I'm going to do a little pot stirring because the Faith forums don't get many posts other than prayer requests (which I am perfectly fine with). Anywho, what do you think about the Jews and the Bible saying that the only way to the Father is through the Son? I have mixed feelings on it. They don't believe it happened, but it clearly did. They are also God's chosen people, so there are a few approaches. I think it's up to God when we all get up there, until then I can't condemn anyone, even then I couldn't because we all have our faults. Just seeing what others opinons are.

Every last letter of the Word is important and has something for us, but the whole focus of the Bible from the very beginning is God and Christ, our total failure to follow his rules, our inadequacy to be saved by following rules was can't keep, Christ, his life, ministry, death, resurrection, and our need for a savior. Christ observed the law of the day in many ways, but he also did many things the religious leaders of the time felt was breaking the law and Christ had responses for them that put them in place with authority and made many enemies. The time of the law was finished when he died and rose again. There is much in the New Testament about the law being good, but that it is not all critical if it is not sin. Eating certain things, Sabbath, circumcision and many more ritual things were dismissed. Much of the law was not sin, but ritual that Christ did away with. The law was only give at the request of the Israelites. The law, judges, kings and many more things were what God gave them because they asked for it. He wanted to give them something better. Before Christ people were still saved by faith. After Christ it is only by faith in Christ. Christ is all in all and the suffering of the holy and sinless one is a big deal!

I'll have to agree with that one. Maybe not the Passion of The Christ though. It would probably have alot of editing done to it because of all the gore on it. I never saw the movie myself, just excerpts during sermons and the such.

Good grief - I'm posting something on a religion/spiritual thread. I suppose I'm a spiritual person, and while you guys have so eloquently shared the gospel I have two thoughts. A) What to the 10 commandments have to do with Easter? EVERYTHING! To expound a "little". This is the very law that Jesus came to remove us from. If you are talking about the movie - it is the Judeo-Christian story and Christianity's foundation is just that - as it is the Garden of Eden as it is the flood as it is the story of Moses and the Israelites. (B point. I do feel that there is a jewish sect that are indeed the one's that control the media - are these counterfit Jews, do they indeed come from the lineage of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Or, is it simply a religion for those who are not in the family lineage to join and proclaim - I'm a jew. That's a question that one may never answer during his/her brief stay on earth.

I'll try to keep this simple and to the point.
1. They show The Ten Commandments, Saturday to tell the passover story.
2. They Don't show The Passion of Christ because it is too violent, half of the movie would have to be edited out to televise it. The movie would loose its impact. It is a very difficult movie to watch if you are a Christian, I would suggest you see it if you haven't, not for kids. The movie is not the Easter story, but about the crucifixtion. Gibson made this movie to show the price that was paid. We all know the best part about Easter is the resurection. A movie on that event would tell what Easter is really all about.
3. Moses has a lot to do with Easter , it helps continue to show the lineage of Jesus. WIthout the release of the Jewish slaves through faith, the nation of Isreal stops. God's covenant with man is protected and demonstrated through this miraculous event.
4. Yes , there are a lot of Jewish leaders in the communication industry. The telling of the Ten Commandments helps us to all remember that we all have a gracious God. None of us are deserving of the Gift that God has provided.
If you haven't read Exodus in the Bible whether your a believer or not I suggest you give it a try. The story of the Jews and of Moses
is both interesting and a great read. History buffs will really enjoy it.
