I searched and didn't really find an answer to my problem. I have a mossberg 935 and it cycles fine when it's inside my house or when it's when it's warm outside, but when it gets cold it cycles really slow and sometimes gets stuck. It usually will eventually close the chamber but it takes it a few second. When I watch the action close, where the action goes slow, there is some lighter color likes it been rubbing. It's almost like once it gets cold the action shrinks just enough to make everything a little too tight. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I doubt you're getting any shrinkage, but only you can attest to that. lol

I'd break it all the way down, and spray and scrub it all the way clean. A lot of times when a gun acts more sluggish in the cold it's because there's too much oil and residue on it. Happens a lot to people who just continually spray/squirt more oil on their guns throughout the year instead of really cleaning them. Oil gets gummy when it's real cold and that's not good for moving parts. I have a couple semi-autos that I run nearly dry during the real cold months. Just the tiniest touch of oil on everything except the trigger assembly. Could be something else, but I'd try that first.

I agree. I will use some CLP and clean it thoroughly and leave a thin coat. then i spray WD40 in there and mine did good at subzero temps last year. the main thing with the 935 is when i got mine there was a ton of pack grease in it and i had to burn most out and clean it really well. Then i just cleaned it after every weekend and sprayed a lil juice after each hunt

maybe it's not shrinking any... I don't know. But I have cleaned it thoroughly and used piratically no oil. I don't believe oil or grease is what's slowing it down, but maybe it is. I'm not expert. I'll try some CLP and see what that does for it.

My 935 did the same thing this year when it was 16F. I gave all the moving parts a shot of Break Free CLP and it worked fine. I keep a can of Break Free CLP in my gear all the time now. Ned S the young 81 yr old.

I am about fed up with my 935's Yeah 2 of them. I think I have them straightened out and one will not fire jam on the 1st shot light primer strikes and etc. etc. I am in the process of trading them off. Id sell them but the re sale value is not very much. When they function correctly they function correctly they are great , But I have not had much consistency with them functioning properly.

I have done the whole bit total dis assembly gas ring installed correctly run the oiled up run them dry even tried graphite powder on the Mag tube. I just never know if I am going to got 1 shot 2 shots 3 or any from them.

The action spring in the butt stock is most likely the issue, it has been before with 935's they have been known to be greased and and when they get dirty they will cause trouble in the cold. your best bet is to disassemble it and clean it really well then hit it with the CLP and that should take care of the issues in cold weather.

Try getting LSA lube for your shotgun it is a little thicker. Also try using an Artic lube for it. Lubes like CLP or Breakfree are not for use in 0 degree weather. Look on websites like cheaper than dirt or at a military surplus store. Cabela's also has some. I had the same problem in Yakima last year training to go to Iraq in -20.... Yeah go figure training in -20 for a summer deployment to Iraq... That story is for another day... I was using CLP for combat shooting drills and my M4 kept cycling super slow, I had to hit the foward assist to get my bolt to lock forward, I called my brother who is in the Army and he recommended a cold weather lube. I used it and it worked well. I cannot remember what it was called.

CLP + Cold Tempatures = No Dice
