Hello all,

I am moving to Portland in August and wanted to get everyones opinion on the city likes and dislikes. Also I wanted to get a handle on hunting etc. Give me your thoughts on anything you think I need to know.

Being a former Texan, if you like the outdoors, you will love Oregon.
I really don't have any dislikes about Portland, I guess it depends on what side you move to and why.
I prefer Northeast and East portland, its centrally located to everything.
Concerning hunting, depending on when you arrive, there is the Oregon Waterfowl Festival which is a 2 day event that should give you a good intro to the popularity of waterfowling up here.

Welcome to Oregon,

Only bad thing about Portland, I-5 and the I-84 LA Traffic, other than that nice town, plenty to do, Whacky Rules when it comes to hunting, don't forget to take your goose ID exam. And yes go to the Waterfowl Festival it is in Rickreall at the Polk County Fair Grounds, it gets a little bigger every year, bring the kids to. Here is the website
