I wanted to post and get the boards advice. Being a deer hunter, I was recently turned on to duck and goose hunting by friends while I was visiting them out of state. After being hooked on my first couple duck outting, I want to continue hunting in Maryland. However, most of my local friends are non-hunters and starting out a single hunter is a bit difficult.

If anyone can provide some advice or suggestions for starting to hunt ducks, or if there are any associations/clubs that might be able to help I would very much apprecaite it.

Thanks and Happy New Year

find any small creeks and ponds out near farm lands. Get a dozen decoys and start hunting small areas.

Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone know any good public land or huntable land in the Baltimore/Carroll/Harford County area that can be hunted without a boat? I appreciate the advice.

Thanks

I think duck hunting was allowed in the gunpowder between baltimore and harford counties. But my best advice is to find some small creeks with openings in them. A place like over grown with trees all over the creek and then a small pool with the trees opening up so the ducks can fly in. Or a open pond for geese or fields for geese.
