Hey Fellas,

Ive been a long time lurker on the site and figured I might as well join up. Love this place...great community and a ton of knowledge in these pages.

About me...

Im 34 and live in Northern Michigan in the straits area. Ive got a great wife that does her best to be understanding and tolerant of my time spent in the outdoors and an infant daughter. Ive been shooting and duck hunting most of my life and also enjoy fly fishing, big game hunting as well as upland...but my primary interests are waterfowl and fly fishing.

Im a wealth of knowledge on the Remington 1100 and 870 having shot both for years in competition so if anyone has any oddball questions about either ill do my best to help!

Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Good day everyone!
Something about me, well I'm from Arizona. Spent almost 40 years there hunting and fishing the great state! Moved to Deep East Texas a year ago. Hunting here in Texas is SOOOOO different compared to there. Let's just say, I think I've landed in Hunting Heaven in Texas ! Anyways, I've got a nice pond out back that get's some ducks on and not really doing a lot of duck hunting in the desert (mostly tank jumping in Arizona) I was interested in buying some duck calls and starting to practice. Not knowing that much about calls and not interested in spending gobs of money for one, does anyone have experience with the different call manufactures that I could ask a few questions of? For example, I know the Duck Commander calls are suppose to be awesome, and the Primus calls are great, but what about the Thomas duck calls ?? Anybody have some opinion on this manufacture? Great - Good - Fair - Poor? Scale of 1-10.....

Thanx Terry

Hi, my name is David Arthur. I have been duck hunting for 3 years and I am 32 years old. I am from VA. I primarily hunt divers on public open water. I shoot a benelli sbe ii. I recently purchased a Lowe Rough Neck 1860 cc. I love the sport and have a great deal of respect for waterfowl and my fellow hunters. I recently joined the chat forum because I would like to meet fellow duck hunters who enjoy the sport as much as I do. I would eventually like to meet a few people who would be interested in leasing a piece of duck hunting property or possibly join a small club. Hunting public waters in VA is becoming increasingly difficult and I would like to improve the quality of my hunts. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself and hope to hear from some of you soon.

What up everyone, I'm 25 years old, I just started duck hunting this season. I am from MO, the Rolla area. It's rough around here as far as duck hunting. Lots of public land but few ducks. Anyways I am glad to have found this forum, I have already learned a lot from here!

Hi!

I'm Olivier from Belgium, and I'm posting here because I have travelled to the US for hunting a couple times, in WA and NC. Of course, I've been hunting in my homeland as well, and have taken a couple hunting trips abroad when I mentioned to my business partners that it is one of my hobbies.

I mainly use an IZh-27 .12cal double barrel shotgun while hunting, and my dog Momotte is a Basset fauve de Bretagne, a great small game hunting breed. Plus, she loves to swim, so it's good to have when you're after ducks.

Thanks for the add to the group. Hopefully I can learn something new and come up with some productive input myself. I live in South Mississippi and hunt on the pascagoula river swamp when I can, but right now working in South Texas and trying to get set up for hunting here. Just got my son into duck hunting this year and really enjoying our time together. Will be bringing my oldest grandson out with us by the end of the season, when we get stuff a little more figured out in the new location.

I decided I might as well join the forums. I am 18 and live in Wyoming. Have been hunting my whole life but have only been waterfowl hunting a couple of years. I mainly hunt the river but have been wanting to get into field hunting. I have a black lab named Remi who is learning along with me. Figuered I might as well get a post under my belt.

New water fowl hunters and new member. I'm Active duty Army so i move fairly often. I went on my first duck hunt and killed my first duck on my first shot last weekend and now I'm hooked. I'm currently at JBLM in Western Washington.

I'll probably only get out 1 more time this season due to work, and that's if i can find someone who wants to go on the 7th of January. This summer i move to Fort Drum, New York and hopefully i'll have decoys and calls of my own by then and can just solo hunt.

Hey y'all, I'm Noah and I'm from the North Texas area. This is my second season duck hunting and I have dove in head first. I absolutely fell in love after my first duck hunt. This season I have dedicated most of my time to duck hunting (mostly scouting) and finally put together a good hunt and shot my first limit a couple days ago! I am always eager to learn new things about the sport and I am constantly working to improve. I am also a Pro-Staff member for Wax'em Waterfowl Co. If anyone is in the DFW or Lubbock area in Texas and wants to hunt let me know!

Hi...Not much to say, I've been duck hunting for several years but hadn't hunted in North Carolina since I moved down four years ago. With the new dog I've been hitting it hard. Nothing to show for it yet, but I have faith... :hi:

Goals for next season are to start a boat fleet and get less walk-in area bound...

Hi all! New member on here.

My name is Don, I'm active duty and just recently moved to Alabama this past summer, so I didn't get out as much as I wanted to this past season, just a few times. I started duck hunting with my dad when I was roughly 8 years old... didn't start shooting until i was about 12 though. Some of my earliest memories are from sitting in a duck blind with my dad. A ton of great memories! I'm hoping to relive and create some of new memories in the near future with my 2 kiddos. Currently boat shopping for a surface drive due to not having the same luxuries as I did years ago back home. Now that my kids are a bit older they are showing more interest in it so I think its finally time to get a rig to get out there and make many memories.

Hi! I'm new to the site. This year was my first time hunting since I went off to college 15 years ago. Grew up hunting deer and dove, and the occasional turkey, but this is my first year duck hunting and I was hooked the first time I went out. Mostly hunting on public lands so far, but looking to get more involved and get more opportunities. Hunted so far in Fannin, Hunt, and Rains counties for those of you familiar with the area. Hoping my 3 year old son will grow up to want to go hunting with me, heck maybe even my 18 month old daughter down the road. Had some very successful days and plenty of days when I didn't fire a shot. Hoping to learn a thing or two and contribute anyway I can.
