Hello - new member and new hunter in NE Oklahoma. Got into hunting so I'd have something to teach the kiddos. I'm still learning how to find the decent spots and have spent a ton of money in the sport. I have been reading these forums for several months - glad to be a member now! If there are any other NE Okies that like to hunt responsibly, hit me up in 2018. I'm ready to make some hunting friends.

Just joined the board. Moved to Central Kentucky from Florida about a year ago. I have a question. I live on a nice piece of property near Nicholasville, Kentucky. Until today (Feb 9) I haven't seen a duck. Suddenly a lot of ducks have showed up in a creek that runs through my property. What kind of ducks would these be showing up in early February in this sort of weather? As you can probably tell, I'm not a hunter. I'm just curious to know the patterns, especially given this is the first time we've seen any ducks much less this many. Thanks for any help.

Hello, My name is Jerry and I live in Fort Myers Florida. I haven't duck hunted in years but now would like to get back into it with my 12 y/o while he still likes to hang out with me! I'm also a falconer and interested in taking ducks with birds of prey as well. I have a nuisance wildlife removal business. The only ducks I currently remove are Muscovies! I've been scouting local wildlife management areas. Would be interested in meeting local hunters. Thanks!

Hi my name is Ken and I live in Central Montana...I am 64 years old and have been hunting since I was 9 ......I hunt big game, all the upland birds here ,as well as ducks and geese...I have never lost my passion for hunting and still get as excited as when I was 7 and following my dad. Birds are still #1 in my book.
I hunt the Yellowstone and Big Horn areas, but live near the Missouri so that is where most of my waterfowl (and some pheasants too) hunting takes place...just love the Big Mo! Besides the river we also hunt the surrounding wheat stubble fields.I have a G3 1886 ccj jet boat that I use for hunting and fishing...I have a pointing Lab(Zeke) who is a family member and best friend.
I reload all my own ammo and really enjoy researching loads and finding new ones.My favorite shotgun is my Benelli M2 that has served me well for quite a few years now.My wife has hunted with me for many years but is spending more time with the grandkids these days. Some of our best memories have been in the mountains and prairies of Montana hunting, fishing, camping and exploring together. I feel very lucky to have had such a good partner that loves the outdoor life as much as me!
Look forward to interacting with everyone and learning new things!

Hi all, this is Steve from East Central Wisconsin. New member on the forum who is getting back into duck hunting after sitting out for about 10 years. I've always had hunting dogs and enjoy upland hunting as well. Never did much duck hunting in WI though. Used to take trips out to ND and had a blast. Got a 7 month old Field bred Golden male I am training for upland, waterfowl, and hunt tests. Hoping to learn a few things on the site and get him some birds this fall.

Hello! I have got lots of great info in the past from this site and am wanting to become more involved in the waterfowl community so i decided to join. I have been hunting waterfowl for over 10 years now mostly in Utah but have ventured to Idaho and Washington in recent years. I prefer to hunt rivers and fields but will hunt whereever the birds are.

Good Afternoon,

My name is Doug Walton. I'm from Georgia, but the army has sent me to San Antonio, Texas. I'm real used to hunting woodies, but I'm completely lost here in Texas lol. I've done a little research and seen that there's a lot of redheads, pintail, and gadwalls. Not to familiar with the species, but I know I'll need a good bit of decoys. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated!

Hey new to the forum and still new to duck hunting here. Been at it for 4 years. All public hunts and extremely interested to learn. If you hear me out in the marsh I am easy to spot. I am the one that calls at every bird regardless of species and it normally sounds horrible. I have actually killed more birds not calling than calling. I hope I can learn from some of you veteran duck hunters what I am really supposed to do.

Hey Im 19 and Ive been duck hunting for for about 10 years now, but I just started hunting alone about 3 years ago. I'm great at calling and I hunt a lot on lake murvual and I just got a small boat with 9.5 mercury so I'm about to start hunting Toledo Bend after this split is over with. Id really like to know how the duck numbers are on Toledo Bend right now considering its major hydrilla shortage.

Hey guys,

Not new to the site but ill be moving to Texas from Montana this summer. I'll be living in Abilene and would appreciate any advice for what areas are good so that i can start scouting after i move. Not trying to scout off the forum, i just know that the hunting down here is a lot different than Montana. Looking forward to traveling the state and finding some spots. Glad to be here and hope to see some folks out there!
