Cant beat a benelli.
New Purchase Benelli SBE II!
I went to Gander Mountain last night with every intention of buying a Browning Gold Stalker and then send it off to get it dipped in MAX-4. Then for the first time I saw the Benelli SBE II I debated and debated but in the end I bought the SBE II with a 26" barrel in MAX-4. Both the Browning and the SBE II felt good when I picked the up. If Browning would make the BGH in MAX-4 I probably would have bought it. I really didn't want to go through the trouble and wait of having it sent off to get dipped. I had picked up the SBE 1's before and didn't like them because everyone that I picked up the center bead was always low and to the left. It wasn't like that with any of the other benelli's I picked up just the SBE 1's for some unknown reason. But I tell you what that SBE II is a great feeling gun and I am really excited about it. I just can't wait to shoot it. Thanks for all of the discussion topics in here about different guns they really helped out when I was doing research trying to figure out which gun I wanted.

Congrats on the Benelli, some guys like to bash them because they are made in Italy but let me tell you .
I was on a Wood Duck hunt on 1-30-05 in a pretty damn good rain and I was the only guy with a SBEII. We were in a little bity hole with no cover and had to lay on the ground (mud and water). I have never in my life been so proud when alot of the guys with semi autos kept jamming, mainly Remingtons. I just kept banging away. I will never, I repeat NEVER own anything but a Benelli.
I own both SBE 1 and II and love them both.

I am not trying to knock your purchase of an SBEII, I am going to buy one. Last week I went to the store I have been dealing with for years, they had the SBEII I wanted and the owner (whom I consider a friend) wouldn't sell it to me. He said he had sold 15 of them and everybody was complaining about jamming issues. He says that with the gun producing such a high percentage less recoil that the ejection mechanism would not always function properly. He said Benelli knew this and was wokring to fix the situation. He told me to wait until August and the new models SBEII were out.
I had the same problem only with light loads 2 3/4 inch 7 and 8 shot. these were just cheap target loads. I bought a box of six's with a little heavier shot and a larger dram # and havent had the problem since. I wouldnt be discouraged its not a bid deal. Now that I have had the gun for a while and its broken in it will shoot the same loads that were jamming before.
I also bought a new SBE II for this season. I have loved it....most of the time. It has misfired on me three times since I have had it this season! I cant explain it, maybe someone can help. When I sit down in the blind or in some bushes to hide I load in my three shells, 3 or 3 1/2 inchers and then sit and wait. I have brought the gun up on ducks three times, taken off the safety, and pulled the trigger and all I hear is a click. Quite a loud one as well, because it spooks the landing ducks. I always check out the shell and the primer isnt touched, the shell is good. It is like the shell isnt getting seated properly in chamber. I am goign to send my gun back to Benelli over the summer and see if they can find a problem. But I like the way it shoots, and when it does i sure kills ducks. I hope I didnt get a lemon gun.

What is probaly happening is you are not letting the bolt "slam" shut. On the Benellis if the bolt is not all the way up (and I mean ALL the way up) it will do exactly what you are saying. If you put the shell in slow or somehow hit the bolt slightly it'll do that. Let it slam shut and I bet your problem will dissapear.
Also, the Benellis work on kinetic energy. They will eject a very light load as long as it has 1 1/8 ounce shot in it (at least they are suppose to). That load will eject much better than a "hot" 1 ounce load.

Thanks, now that I think about it I sometimes have a tendancy to play with the blot while im sitting, and I bet that I am letting it set softly sometimes. Thanks for the info...I apprecitate it.
I just bought a sbeI and love it. Never Jammed on me once. But I only used it on one hunt, shot 3 shells and killed one snow goose. Congrat's on your purchase and i hopr u like the gun as much as i do. :thumbsup:
I just happened upon your message regarding the "click" misfire of your SBE II. I had the same problem on a number of occasions while goose hunting; frustrating to say the least. After you've loaded all three shells into the gun, and closed the bolt, press the "special carrier control button" on the side of the gun. (See picture 15, on page 10, of the instruction booklet) This ensures that the red dot on the "cartridge drop lever" is clearly visible. (I figured this out from step 1 of the Loading Procedure on page 12 of the instruction booklet). After doing this, I have never had the misfire 'click' again.

holy kapoui thats exactly what i want in max4 hopefully with my new summer job i can get it!!!
I had some loading issues with my new Benelli when I first got it. It's priceless to go to the club abd find out you're the problem not the gun! I have only owned over-unders and a pump and wasn't loading the gun properly. You live and you learn.
