Have any of you guys seen the new series on HBO called John Adams? I love that s--t! It's basically a drama about the American Revolution. I'm gayly posting this because I'm an American History nut. It's very inciteful and gives a good portrayal of the social climate of America as it was in the 1770's Well worth watching if you like that sort of stuff.

You can catch up if you went to grade school, but I think it will be on again Wednesday or Friday, maybe Saturday. They run 2 episodes a night back to back part 1 of 7 and 2 of 7. were last Sunday. It's pretty sweet. The Continental Congress adopted the militia in last nights part 2 of 7 and appointed Georgie Washington as the Commander in Chief. Georgie was humble but accepted In Part 1 of 7 they had the Boston Massacre and the Soldier were on Trial. John Adams was the defense attorney and got the soldiers a not guilty verdict. He and Samual Adams got into an arguement about Sam being a lawless radical... The whole thing kicks ass!

Captain, this is starting to get scary, we think too much alike. I absolutely love the revolutionary period. I have been working on a revolutionary battle painting now for three and a half years, should complete it soon. The Battle of Kettle Creek - look it up . We have done a very poor job of telling our part in the revolution in Georgia.
History has missed so much of what actually happened here over 200 years ago. Georgia has some great history that needs to be told!

Most history books record little of anything happening during the revolution in Georgia. The truth is Georgia was the first colony the British abandoned during the revolution. Most of the battles fought
here were between loyalist and patriots. The continental army only had 1500 men in it in the southern campaign, two generals one with 700 the other with 800. There were actually more patriot forces than armed regulars available in the south. I could go on and on but i"ll spare you.

I also love the Revolutionary period, I took orders to Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, just so i could walk the battle feilds. I got more than i hoped for there's also alot of history on the base (very close to the battle fields)that very few will ever get to see.

I have been studying Iroquois (Seneca) archeology for about twenty years and have acquired a sizable collection of artifacts from the mid-1500's to General Sullivan's destructive march through the Iroquois nation in 1779. It's interesting to read about history and even more interesting to actually investigate history.

Iroquois, talk about picking the wrong side in the Revolution. Of course, they would probably have been screwed no matter what.

The Iroquois were used as pawns in a power struggle since the first European contact. The Dutch, French and English all had their own agenda and expansionist policies and used the Iroquois against each other. The Iroquois confederacy were constantly at war, either with the Europeans or other tribes and thought nothing of traveling as far west as the Mississippi from here in cental NY to kick some arse to settle a grudge.
