I dont have one YET, but I hear the Mossburg 935 Auto is a slammin' deal, and is in that price range.

The Stoeger M2000 is $450 and a great gun, low recoil on 2 3/4 shells. I have also shot the new Mossy 935 I would categorize it as equal. Stay away from the Walmart Surplus Beretta 391's there's a reason that Berretta sold them the rest of their old stock. What about a corn shucker? (Pump) cant beat an 870.
