amarillo is awesome for hunting. Some of the best goose hunting in texas is around there and even north of there. Layout blind or laydown chair and as many decoys as you choose. Just follow em to a field and gain permission. Im not for sure about public hunting, there are a few here and there, but nothing like other states that I have hunted.

Some fields are hit and miss. Just depends on the people. I have some days where it take 10 minutes to find a field and others that there is no way in hell im going to get permission. Its basically just luck of the draw. Find water, and typically there are ducks. If you can find them feeding in a field when it gets cold, your golden.

thanks how tough is it to get permission to hunt? o and what about ducks?
There is a place just south of Amarillo called Buffalo Lake Reservoir that would be amazing for hunting. Not sure the restrictions on it just yet. I heard about it late last week and put the email and phone calls in to the head dude. If there is a chance to get on, I will let you know.

I don't remember. I did some research on it before the season started and thought the website had special sections quartered off for hunting. I think I have a map at the house showing the hunting areas. It might not be for ducks though. Not sure.
