Approx a year I bought a new house and 80 acres of land....adjacent to this 80 used to be a lake via a dike....unknown to me...the dike gave way years before I bought the land....It was never replaced as one adjacent landowner had a problem with water backed up on his/her property.....I made a few phone calls and learned that the concerned landowner had water backed up via a beaver dam 4 miles away......got permission for USFWS to enter the adjacent land to shoot elevations....Looks like the structure is going to be replaced as I and one other landowner have given the green light.....keep your fingers crossed....this wetland used to raise alot of birds......

That is great!

Often people look to the Govt to provide habitat. But over 90% of the land is owned by private parties. So when landowners and the various facets of the Federal, State , and local Govt can cooperate together, the results are a tangible win-win for all concerned.

KO, it is truly good to see you leading by example of what can be done to be of benefit of all.
