Honer,

It's been really slow out there lately, lots of folks posting zero's on the check out sheets. Until freeze up it will be a crap shoot whether the birds will be moving or not.

When ya go, spend some time driving around and see where the birds are. It seems to hunt best in the afternoon, so you shouldn't miss much. Or you can set up for the first couple of hours and then pick up, scout and set up for the evening flight.

Honer, FS is pretty slow right now. You may have to give it a week or two to start freezing up to get the birds to move. Other wise I would suggest going out there and looking around then setting up where you see birds.

Sorry for not better news.

Honer,

Carp and I get out there several times a year. May not be a fast shoot at times, but we go for the whole day and wait it out. Figure if we're going to drive that far, we might as well stick it out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Best part is that you'll not have a crowd, and we would rather have a bird or two that works well and decoys than shoot a bunch at birds that won't commit to within 20 yards.

If you go, be prepared to move. Unlike the northern WMA's you should be able to find another spot, and if the birds are moving you have to go to them.
