i own one .. yes it is great ...no not all labs will do this it is in there blood ... you can get most labs to flush but not lock down on them... took mine and my bro's to hunting phestent this weekend let the dogs out and were loading the guns when about 30 yards from the truck my girl locked up on a roster took us about 2 or 3 mins to get up to her readdy with shells in the guns she never showed any sign of wanting to break .... only down side they are a lil pricey ... at least 2 or 3 times as much a normal labs ...(at least all the breeders i could find) but if you think about it ... one less dog to train, feed, and buy .... good investment i would say and there is nothing better than walking into a feild to set up goose deks for an afternoon hunt and have your dog lock down on a covey of quail ... gives you a lil mixed bag of birds.... but they don't tend to cover the territory that a normal bird dog will but we had a 7 person line and both dogs were running the whole line most of the time...and they tend to be more obedent... my dog has never hunted with hunted with an e-collar in the feild (hunted all weekend has her bust one cock out of range)
