Thanks everybody for the kind words .Crewcheif Im not in New York I stopped spending winters there 20 years ago, my shop is in my basement and my basement is in Asheville,NC where the mean yearly temperature is 70 degrees F.
Ringneck I dont compete anymore I just carve decoys and sell on line but the green ribbons with the picture of dead presidents are always welcome.

Those are beautiful, you are defintely in a different league than me. I am just trying to build hunting blocks but someday maybe get into carving reproductions of similar quality.
Did you ever encounter my Dad's cousin, George Soucy from Essex Mass ? He passed away a couple of years ago but was very involved with carving and competitions for the past 15 years or so.
these are very nice decoys. i noticed the pinholes in the wood. i get that problem a lot with my working dekes which are white cedar. i was just wondering wat you were using and where i might be able to get some seeing as how theyve put a ban on cuttin down white cedar around here.
