I just put the finish touches on this green wing teal hen . Cork and basswood .The decoy is painted in Jansen Traditions acrylic paint utilizing dry brushing techniques and wet in wet blending .
No airbrush on this decoy.

I dont see why this decoy would not see service .
When I keel and balance this decoy it will float and self right from any position.
The paint may look fancy but I assure you its not anyone with the correct techniques and tools can paint a decoy like this easy and I guarentee it.
It isnt rocket science you just need to know the techniques and they are simple to apply.
I used simple spongeing and drybrushing on a base coat of burnt umber and raw umber applied with a sponge texture.

Howdy Y'all...
Would you consider doing a tutorial on your paiting techniques? Not all your trade secrets, but a general step-by-step guide to getting similar results for the artisticly challenged? I'm sure other viewers would appreciate some tips, and pointers on your carving techniques, also. Wonderful decoys, and love seeing them as an inspiration for me to try this for myself. Thanks a million....
