Well my neopremes got a hole somewhere and I cannot seem to find it but after every hunt it looks like I pissed myself. I was looking at the Redhead canvas/rubber waders. They are like a hundred bucks. I thought about looking at the bass pro extremes but I was not impressed with my friends pair. What do you guys think are a good set for around 140 I dont want to spend a ton since I am at school most of the year. My only hunting spots are about 2 hours away and with gas I wont be driving home a whole lot.

Ahhhh, the good ol' days of rubber wader- cold feet, limited movement, spilling in water when you hunker down.

I suggest looking hard for the leak and fixing it. If all else seal the whole crotch seam with rubber cement. It is generally a small split in the crotch of waders that causing pissing of the pants.

I have a pair of the Cabela brushbusters. They are very tough, but you sacrifice comfort for toughness and they are less flexible. I can not lift my leg as high add it makes it harder to climb into the boat, but I do not have any leaks.

Neoprene means comfort and only waterproof as long as your not tough on them

I have a pair of neoprene bass pro waders that the old lady got for me around Christmas. Have yet to use them but I have high hopes over my old Hodgman's that I normally wear that to have been sealed 6 or 7 times but still leak.

spend a few extra bucks and buy some redhead bonedry neoprene's. ive had mine for 4 seasons now and they are just as waterproof as ever. i hunt mostly swamps and definitely abuse my waders, and they have held up no problem so far.

i used to wear the rubber and canvas ones...STEER CLEAR. if you want to stay warm and dry, the rubber ones are not a good idea. unless youre a polar bear.

160 bucks is what i paid for mine, and if youre a safety freak you can even get them with the ripcord co2 inflation dealio.

If you have a Cabelas near you, you might think about the Cabelas 1200 TI. Has Titanium Insulation and is a GREAT set of Waders. If you get em on sale they are on 120-130. Regular price 170-180. CHeck em out, they have a handwarmer, shell holder, 4 pockets  . I have used them in just about every weather condition in Texas. I have hunted with them on in 80 deg and 30 degress with pouring rain. I was always warm but not too warm.

I may not be the gut to ask about waders ! I have gone thru 4 pairs in 3yrs . The 1st pair was guide series (gander mtn) paid $120 for them, boots slip like crazy, without counting the blisters if in sloppy mud the boot will stick and your foot will come out of them , you end up face first in the water. Second 2 pairs were Red Head brand ( bass pro ) I really liked the ankel fit of these waders but the inseam is very short I'm 6' 3" you need to get them a size or two smaller than your regular shose size to fit . I split both pair out climbing in and out of the boat. The weight of these waders is not unbareable but alittle on the heave side when walking much of a distance. The last pair I bought were Colimbia Quad waders I love these waders . They are pricey and not made of kevelar although I material on the outside took quite a beating till I ran a cut sapling thru the leg . These waders are also on the heavey side when walking any distance. I you want to stay warm go with atleast a 5mm neoprene I know a few guy's that hunt with uninsulated waders and will be worring about the heater more than the birds......Just my 2 cents worth....Lostpup

I got some Mad Dog nylon/rubber waders. They're basically canvass made of nylon, it that at all makes sense.

I got them from the Ducks Unlimited catalog a few years back, perfect in all weather (with proper clothing under) and tough as nails. The only problem I've had with them is the thinsulate is wearing out in the heel of the boot. I suspect it's from my method of putting them on at 4 :30 in the morning and basically jumping until my feet get in, but it is "pilling" off.
I gotta imagine this will ultimately happen with every wader out there, after time.

I think you can still get them, or at least a similar pair, for around $100.
