I just recieved a lee loader for 12ga, (2) 50# feed sacks full of Win AA 2 3/4" hulls, 500 wads, and 25lbs of lead and powder, all for the nice low price of free. It has the books that came with it, are there any other books I should look into for loading lead? How many shots could I expect to get out of these 'once fired?' AA hulls? And how can I tell if they are truely once fired?

Any other advice for someone new to reloading would be appreciated. I would like to start out with some dove loads, and eventually work my way up to steel duck and goose loads for the next season.

sounds like a good deal free.aa hulls depending on how hard you load them they can produce 6 to 9 times.a 1 1/8 load would be all you need for dove hunting 7,7.5,8 shot all work.even a 1 ounce load works if you can hit them.what kind of wads, powder, primers do you have?if you go to alliant website you can find loads there or winchester powder data.need any help someone on here will surely help with lead and steel.when the crimps start getting weak they will form cracks then it's time to pitch them.

Claybuster wads to replace a AA28 (i think). The powder is 'round ball' powder, never opened. It doesnt ring a bell with me. I have winchester 209 primers and Triple 7 209s at home, but not sure if those will correlate with reloading shot shells. Im gonna take a few days and read up before I start droppin shot.
