Image #1 is my Baseline Pattern for future LIL GUN 1.25 Cheddite 3" hull 52 gin 1488fps 111 156 steel #2 accounted for @ 40 yards

image #2 RSI Load # 130 subbed 1/4 oz of #9 TSS and 1 oz of BB steel. one 1/8" felt spacer at the bottom of the wad. un expected result. 100% of the still shot was accounted for on the paper

Image #3 same as image #2 except only 1/8 oz of #10 Tss subbed with 1-1/80z of steel #1. same result all Steel shot accounted for on the paper at 40 yards.

Image #4 same Rsi #130 load with straight #2 steel as a baseline. only 112 of 156 Steel #2 accounted for on the paper at 40 yards.

There will be more to come over the course of the season. I'm really looking forward to see if the anomaly continues with the steel on top of the TSS. in the B&P WAD.

That bore looks terrible! What wads are you using, and why is it so scored?? I've shot all sorts of tss and hw13 tungsten, and have zero scoring from tps28 wads or csd20 wads.
And duplex 12ga with csd118 wads, zero scoring. Of course tss is placed at bottom of wad, and wad is not slit to bottom...

What are you doing that you are getting such poor protection with wads and scoring? What wads? Tss on top?

Have you tried any lil'gun in cold soaked shells? Or do you know anyone who does?
I haven't yet.
Just curious how it behaves in the cold.
Check with Bruce Ducksworth of Bruce's Big Bore Ballistics ... he recently did some cold shell tests for folks. He can probably give you a generalized answer on his findings. I bellieve he had them in a deep freeze for a few days and put them in dry ice before shooting them.

I don't. It's not l likely to get cold here to try. I wonder if I could put them in a cooler with dry ice to get the temp down. Also. After shooting several the recoil is a bit more. Then the 33 grain RSI 1450 fps 1-1/4oz recipe. I'm going to load the 50 grain 1444fps version and see if there is a difference.

Copy that. It's also plastic transfer from hot plastic. It's my spare 28" Barrel that has had roughly 2200 rounds through it. With nothing more then a dry bore snake through it. Without the wire brush. Just to knock the grit out. Sometime ago. Someone made a big deal out of patterns had to be done with a clean barrel. So I purchased another barrel to prove or disprove the theory. It's also less reflective to get an image to show the chunky residue.

I know y'all duck hunters are are about speed speed speed. "I got my 12 oz load of steel BB shot clipping along at 2,860 FPS." LOL. I really couldn't tell you how many geese I've killed with a 12 Ga 2Âľ" 1 oz? (Best I remember?) of Steel #6 shot at summers around 1,300 FPS? Now granted I was shooting them at 60, 70, 80 yards and I wasn't sky busting either. To give you a little more context this was in the late 90s and early 2000s. I was shooting Winchester Dry-Lock. I guess geese have gotten a lot tougher since then? Or shells must have gotten worse?

This is like the #1 Troll post of the month. But no skill... no one is gonna bite on 80yds, 1300fps, #6 steel, "I'm a shooting god, I killed endless geese". That might have worked, until you tried to hint how it was summer out of season, shooting them on ground, and did everything you could to himt about it besides yelling, "I WAS A CIA GOOSE ASSASSIN! I KILLED A LOT OF RUSSIAN GEESE DOING SPYING!"

If you really want to just do a drive-by B.S. post trying to rabble rouse, which you clearly do because this is a thread about tss duplex testing and nothing you mentioned... then you have to keep your outrageous B.S. claims to like 2. And try to find a thread remotely about your bragging area, so you don't come off like Cousin Chad stopping by the ladies knitting circle to brag about the 37 point buck he shot at 2500 yds with a 22LR.

Good luck to you, Internet Chad of Small Steel Greatness! ;)

You misread my post my friend. I said I WASN'T shooting 80 yards. Most of my shots were 35 yards or less. I haven't shot steel shot since then nor have I shot geese or ducks since then. I was simply attempting to convey that you don't have to shoot BB or T shot sizes at 1,600-1,700 FPS to kill geese. I'm a dove and deer hunter. I haven't shot waterfowl in over 20 years.
