I reload 3 1/2" - 1 3/8oz - #5's - 1550fps and shoot them at everything. Not that I haft to take 35-40 yard shots often, but it will drop their heads and turn their feet up if you are hitting them.
#5's gives you enough pellets in the pattern to get 4-5 hits on the bird. Use to shoot #2's-#3's but the steel is much better today than it was when they first made us go to steel. cooter
