If it is private, I would go in right at shooting time and jump in the blind. The ducks will fly around giving you some shooting before they head out. Just don't ground pound the flock or they will all be gone. Or you can go in at dark. The birds will jump and probably be back right after legal shooting time. When I used to hunt the east side more frequently the property we had we never hunted the roosts. We would stay at least 3/4 of a mile or more away to provide good shooting throughout the morning.

Fowler I agree, i wasnt planning on ground pounding. Kind weird, theese birds NEVER roost here but always fly in. I think that there has been beemn SOOOO much pressure everywhere else in the vallly that they dont like to leave. Another guy is hunting this place tommorow, i figured i would break it in for him

just out of curiosity where is the place you hunt? I hunt a private field next to another field where the ducks roost like crazy and when those guys are hunting over there once the birds leave they havent been coming back this year like in years past.
