2 year old Chessie, female, having problems with chewing items while we are away from the house (2-3 hours). We've given her cow hooves, kongs with peanut butter (frozen), etc. Every now and then, she'll grab an item (i.e. glove) and chew it up. She's never had any chewing issues with furniture, pillows, beds, etc. Please help.

crate the dog while you are gone...simple solution as long as it's not for more than 8-9 hours you should be good...just air the dog out before crating...and leave a shirt or other article of clothing (one that you have worn recently that has your scent on it) close next to the kennel for the first few weeks...the scent will help to calm the dog.
This has worked for a few dogs.
And do not make a big deal of it when you return and get the dog excited..this just feeds the cycle...keep very calm and even keel when you let the dog out...you can pet him, but basically act like it is a normal thing...
