Can be great for geese. I have shot them before at snows since those shots tend to be longer. I don't shoot them that often since I like my canada geese up close and personal.
For ducks, 3" should be plenty. My buddy shot some 3.5" and was just smoking them. Guess it depends on what you prefer. It will be awful hard on that shoulder to shoot alot of 3.5" out of that Nova.

I had a touch time early on shooting 3.5 out of my nova, then I learned to handle the gun better and now I can shoot them all day without the recoil reduer. Im a big dude though.

I saw some 3.5" #6s the other day, those would be deadly on decoying ducks..... Kinda defeats the purpose though, if they are close enough for #6 why use 3.5?

I only use 3.5s for geese.
