Thanks for the note. I moved to the valley two years ago when my wife got a job at JMU. It has been the best thing possible for me, since we live in Atlanta before...

Yeah, I heard that the chapters in this part of the state have been very limited as far as interest. I have been involved with DU since I was almost 15 years old and this chapter is on the rebound. I got involved with the committee last year when it was going through some changes and we are trying to target folks from the Harrisonburg /Staunton/Waynesboro area. We have a couple of committee members who are from your neck of the woods and we would love for you to consider visiting the banquet.

To be honest with you my hunting in the valley has been very limited. I have had a hard time finding anyone that is willing to take a guest on or that will lease or allow me to hunt their land. Since I grew up in NC, I get back down there a good bit through the season to hunt with my pals I grew up with. I wish that I did not have to drive 4 hours home to hunt, but that is just what I have to do. I went through a job change last summer that really tied me up and kept me from getting out to explore the rivers and chase any ducks around here. I am getting more and more into geese since there are so many throughout the area.

Ahh, now I see that you're The Poster Formerly Known As smuhunter.

I brought up one of your threads from the dead a while ago, but you must have been busy. I'm bound to have room some days this coming season, just let me know.

Managing golfers from the valley? That's interesting.

Yeah that is me...for some reason my password would no longer work for that profile, so I started a new one named after my lab.

We would love to have any fellow hunters from the area come to the banquet, so consider yourself invited.

There are not too many professional golfers from the valley, so most of my clients are PGA Tour players who live all over. This week I had to come to the Masters to be here for Stuart Appleby and Heath Slocum who we manage...rough week, but someone has to do it!

Whoa! I assumed he was in based on his performance last year if nothing else and had even seen him on an odds list. But you're right, he's not there this week. Finished 20th last year and needed to be in the top 16.

We were friends as little kids. I always found it annoying when his grandfather would interrupt our slam dunk contests on the 7' rim and make Luke putt. Clearly, I was a genius at 9 (though if he didn't "make it" things would look different).

I saw where most books have Justin Rose listed anywhere from 40-1 to 80-1. That's crazy, he's going to win one of these in the next ten years.

Sounds like you follow golf closer than most. I guess you were from the Greenville area originally??? Charles Warren and some other boys who live in Greenville take him hunting with them and use him as their retriever.

I am pulling hard for my guys, but I am afraid that Tiger will probably be tough to beat. He's playing with Appleby, so maybe I should pull a Tonya Harding...
