I know what I have watched, and read it said checkcord. However, with cotton he went 2 yrs with almost no training. When I put just a leash on him he will not run with it on. I can get him to walk around with it some, but it is basically me walk 10 ft call him, and he slowly comes to me. Then I repeat. I don't have anything currently that teaches anything other than the checkcord. The only thing I can think of is to teach it like a Ecollar. Sit,blow, sit. I don't know but he acts like he is in trouble when he has a checkcord on him.

A lot of times when I get the sit down well I will walk away from the dog and if the dog moves a will "sit" whistle "sit" I then will call the dog and will blow the sit whistle as it approaches and command sit...

Fowldawgs 2 DVD teaches you how to do the sit whistle..

Quack...when i trained my Lab...at an early age,i'd take her in the back yard for her OB training with the check cord on and just do some heeling and sitting drills...when she finally learned it after a few times...i just mixed the whistles in and whispered sit to her...after a while, all i did was blow the whistle and she was down...and it just comes in when you start to cast or send the dog on retrieves and start to control the dog...so go simple...maybe a walk or back yard...checkcord or leash and mix the whistle in...while saying Sit.!!!Let me know, how you make out....Honkers41
