Hey fellas I get the pleasure to visit your state and hunt some snows in a few weeks. I am very excited for this hunt I have been keeping an eye on movement the best I can but haven't heard much. I know with this weather things have for the most part been held south but just checking to see if there is any movement in the state

2 weeks or so I saw 1 snow in the local flock of Canada's at family park outside of Sioux falls. What a fluke. I always use st. Pattys day as the yearly marker for snows in sd. Last year I shot snows on mar. 13. This winter will probably delay the geese. I'm Guessing mid to late march, with early april being go time. Have fun in sd

First couple of groups down by yankton but not much yet. Nebraska is reported to holding 1.5 million +. Still snow on the ground and with no water open yet I assume they are content to stay in nebraska. Mid March to early April is when Id expect decent numbers of birds here.

Thanks for the update I've been talkin with some guys back in the Midwest tryin to keep an update the best I can. This is my first guided hunt for snows. I have hunted them on my own when I lived in Utah and did pretty well for the amount of birds the state received. I hope to venture on my own next year. I have a small spread and building now.

I've hunted snows here in SD for the last 9 or 10 years. I've always shot birds the last two weekends of March without having to drive more than 2 hours from Sioux Falls except for one spring when we had to go north of hwy 12. The birds come through SD basically the same 3 weeks every spring.
